By now you've almost certainly posted your professional profile on LinkedIn and nosed around a bit.  But, like many, you may still be unclear on how LinkedIn can help you grow your business. 

Have you joined any of the 1,000's of LinkedIn group?  They're free to join, although often-times you must wait for your join request to be reviewed and approved. 

Organized around specific industries and interests, LinkedIn groups allow you to expand your network immediately and exponentially.  

Can't find the right group?  Consider starting your own.  You'll need to a little promotion to your own network and among other groups.  But it's worth the effort.  You'll be able to use it as a platform to start conversations, conduct market research, and build your network with like-minded individuals.

But just remember, the key to any networking is give and take.  Don't barge on to the scene and promote your products or services with a megaphone.  Talk softly.  Engage in conversations.  Offer advice when asked.   Then, at the appropriate time, move the relationship to the next level.
